The Twitter Hype Peaked

The Internet has been saddled with old media since it's very inception.  A "Page" was electronic but it was static and much like a physical page.  "E-mail" albeit very fast, is still just sending static, linear "pages".  And Search Engine Optimization is passive.  You build your site with content you are trying to get the search engines to index so that people who go searching for stuff will find you.  Really, is this very different from broadcast where you are at the mercy of this giant conglomerate?  I love Google, but a giant search engine company centered in between you and the people you want to talk with is so old media, it won't last in this design.

"I'm not waiting for my ship to come in, I'm building a pier"

And that pier is people.  Social Networks, whether it's Twitter, Linked IN, or Facebook are people connected and talking to each other, leading each other to content.  The free market atmosphere instantaneous posts, self-governing and rating of ideas is light years ahead of the crude initial tools the Internet began with and it's only going to evolve.

No, it's not peaked at all.  It's just getting started.  It may take a lot of us time to get our heads around how to best use these emerging social tools, but make no mistake, it's all about people.
