From Descript to Kapwing in rapid time
This is possibly the most efficient Descript to Kapwing to finished video process I’ve ever worked on. This is for the GRACE Lincoln Way Academy.
Export video from Descript
From the Grace Lincoln-Way folder in Kapwing create a new video starting with the Grace Lincoln-Way template.
From the exported Descript video, grab a screen capture of a frame where the subject is smiling.
Drag the screen capture into the beginning of the video, replacing the screen capture in the template and set the proper duration
Add a 101% zoom to the screen capture so that there are not 1 pixel edges which can sometimes appear
Send that layer to the back
Update the title of the text over the static
Next delete the template video and drag the new video into the same layer and have it begin slightly before the screen capture static ends
Send that video layer to the back
Set the zoom of the video to 101% for the same reason as the static
Generate subtitles for the video
Next, based on the length of the video adjust the end layer elements to appear immediately after the video ends — given that the video plus the end elements are all within 60 seconds — I will make another video on how to adjust for lengths where the video plus the end elements go beyond 60
Drag the other layers to fill in until the end elements appear - note you can select multiple elements at one time and adjust the duration of all at once.
ChatGPT: Grab the transcript of the video from Descript or you can download the transcript from Kapwing and then have it generate 5 short taglines and then choose one. You can tell it to make the shorter and then just repeat with the same chat this command for every transcript — watch below.
Pick you favorite tagline from ChatGPT and update the end title
