SORA: The End of Marketing as We Know It

Sora

These videos were created with a single text prompt with OpenAI’s new Sora

Sora will produce 60 second videos of this quality whereas the AI video tools PikaLabs and RunwayML I’ve been creating content for clients were creating 4 second videos like this just last week.

I left the family business in 1995 to start a job in digital marketing, just 2 years after the birth of the world wide web.

And in my opinion, AI has been the biggest transformation for marketing since the web. Possibly bigger.

What I’ve been able to do for my small business clients because of AI is beyond anything I’ve ever dreamed of and now I’m wondering where the truth in marketing lies when anyone can do this with just a text prompt.

When you can’t trust anything you see as being real, what will that mean?

When you watch the opening credits of the best movie you’ve ever seen, you’re ready to be fooled and transported into that made up story. But you know that going in.

We like and cherish a good story. It’s been that way through all of humanity.

So how, in marketing, will you stand out when everyone can do this?

You’ll tell the best story.

I hate that line and believe it’s overused but it’s the only thing I can think of which will differentiate you when you can’t trust the assets you see and hear.

You’ll acknowledge the tools you’re using to tell that story, but you’ll need to have a better story than everyone else.

If you’re thinking like many, it’s over, leave everyone who’s afraid of AI or misuses it in the dust by perfecting your story.

I can help you with that. Stay tuned for more.
