What kind of commercial would you make if you could show it to 113 million people during the super bowl?
Ours was inspired by the opening interviews of Interstellar where elderly individuals reflect on the severe dust storms and agricultural blight that plagued Earth.
Our twist imagines how theoretically looking back on today signified incredible technological advancement like nobody saw coming.
How I Created Our Super Bowl Commercial
I acted out each segment and then used RunwayML’s Act 1 to have it animate a static image I generated in MidJourney to match my movements and lip sync to my audio. The static images were generated from static screengrabs from the actual dust bowl documentary.
Then I used Eleven Labs voice changer to change my voice to the different voices you hear.
Adding some music and some quick screen grabs here and there as b-roll and in about an hour, this surreal video came to life in a way I never would have dreamed possible for a single person to create from a to z.
