Create marketing with the power of a revolution.

What does a revolution have to do with Marketing?

I believe it illustrates how important writing is in coalescing a message that moves people.

The official Act filed to declare independence was made on July 2nd with the “Lee Resolution ”, to which John Adams wrote to his wife Abigail the following day

“July 2nd will be the most memorable event in the history of America … with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires and illuminations”

So close Mr. Adams.

With the resolution officially approved and filed, next was to write what was to be printed and distributed to the public.

Lest we forget the line:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident…"

Stephen Lucas calls it "one of the best-known sentences in the English language"

Joseph Ellis says it’s "the most potent and consequential words in American history"

Thomas Jefferson is nervous about writing the first draft and Adams calms him down with drinks.

Jefferson spends 17 days writing it, and congress editing for 2 days, shortening it by a fourth.

Jefferson later writes —Congress had "mangled" his draft but clearly by measure of today’s 245th celebration it was this writing that cemented the day.

Great ideas, discussions, decisions, strategies — nothing has power until it is written down.

Someone in your organization should be writing - every day.

Your own declarations.

What you do.

Why you do it and.

Who you are doing it for.

Create marketing with the power of a revolution by first writing it.
