Meta Embraces AI as Facebook, Instagram help drive a comeback.

That's coming from The Wall Street Journal last week stating that Facebook and Instagram are starting to see a path to recovery after the roughest year in its history.

They took a major hit from Apple's privacy changes and pretty much everyone knows TikTok has been taking them out at the knees.

WSJ is reporting that Meta has been able to bounce back by investing heavily in artificial intelligence tools to improve ad-targeting systems and make better predictions based on less data.

This has helped boost Reels, Meta's short-form video product, and also helped the company shift to forms of advertising less dependent on harvesting user data.

Is this the same pivot Microsoft made when they missed the boat in the early web days of the mid nineties? Anyone remember The Microsoft Network?
